Brief summary:
Free academic teaching and research use of most Autodesk software products. Software may be installed on both WSU and personally owned computers.
Listed below are a few of the over 80 products available, see web site for complete list:
  • Inventor Professional - 3D mechanical CA and, visualization
  • Simulation Mechanical - Mechanical simulation tools
  • Nastran - FEA solver
  • Nastran In-CAD - CAD-embedded FEA simulation using Nastran
  • Simulation CFD - Fluid flow and thermal simulation tools
  • ForceEffect Motion - functional moving mechanical systems
  • Maya - tools for 3D modeling, animation, effects, and rendering
  • Inventor HSM - CAM and 3D CAD in one integrated solution
Most software requires Windows 7, 8.1 or 10 64bit. Autodesk recommends that PC should have at least 8 Gigabytes of RAM, most programs will work with less. Graphics card should support OpenGL. A few of the programs are for Apple Macintosh computers and a few are APPs for mobile devices.
